Balance Board Sensors
The balance board is an essential part of synchroboarding, yet the circuitry involved was quite simple. The board had 3 main circuits:
- Potentiometer mechanically coupled to the board creating an effective 0-5V tilt sensor (Fig. 1)
- Mechanical switches that are closed when the board becomes fully off balanced and hits mechanical stops (Fig. 2)
- Vibration motors that are fixed to the bottom of the board to provide haptic feedback (see actuation circuits)
